Why Wireless Infrastructure Build Out is Important

Posted on by Jose Mas

In an effort to  build out its next-generation 4G network nationwide, AT&T has decided to redirect spectrum used for its 2G devices to more advanced technologies by 2017.

As the demand for broadband-enabled technologies increases throughout America, companies such as AT&T must work diligently to find ways in which they can effectively use their resources to better serve their customers. In this case, more and more customers are requesting 3G and 4G technologies, making 2G products less useful. AT&T, in response, is  creating a path that both addresses the growing demand for advanced technologies and builds an infrastructure that can handle the change.

In essence, by freeing up spectrum originally used for 2G devices, they will be adding capacity to their overall network. The more capacity a network has, the better the service for customers.

This is one of the main reasons why wireless infrastructure build out is so important.
