Jose Mas Speaks at MMTC Access to Capital Conference
July 31, 2012Jose Mas, president and CEO of MasTec, Inc., recently delivered a keynote address while at the Minority Media Telecommunication Council’s Access to Capital Conference in Washington, D.C., on July 18, 2012. He preceded the FCC panel by saying that spectrum infrastructure was the next big national project, and that the FCC had a significant role in putting spectrum in the hands of people who will use it.
In his Access to Capital Keynote Address at the conference, Mas encouraged telecom leaders “to reach for transformative change” by embracing the cause of minority entrepreneurship in wireless and telecommunications. Mas called on the FCC to “view spectrum infrastructure development as an opportunity to increase diverse participation in the industry. The Commission should implement a preference for overcoming disadvantages, encourage secondary market transactions and partnership opportunities, and analyze auctions to find areas to increase diversity.”
